Dr. Satish Wagh dared to dream and had the courage to follow his dreams. In 1987, that dream became a reality – Supriya Lifescience Ltd. was born. Visionary & dynamic, he was determined and committed to build the organisation into a world class enterprise.

Dr. Wagh is well qualified for success. He holds a degree in Chemistry and a Degree in Economics. Armed with the perfect blend of technical knowledge and business accumen, he began, slowly but surely, to build an edifice of excellence in the field of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.

Clear vision and impeccable articulation earned this first generation entrepreneur and widely travelled technocrat, the admiration and esteem of his industry colleagues and peers. He was elected Chairman of CHEMECXIL; a Chemical Export Promotion Council that comes under the Ministry Of Commerce & Industry, Government Of India, in 1994 when total exports were a mere USD 17 billion. Today, as he captains the ship in his 6th term (22 years), exports are currently valued at over USD 47 billion.

He is also Chairman of CETP (MIDC Lote), the location of Supriya Lifescience Ltd.’s first manufacturing unit.

Dr. Wagh’s career spans over 35 years of success building market-leading Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, hence he has been bestowed with numerous awards, including the prestigious National Award for “Best Entrepreneur-2007” by then Indian President Honorable Smt. Pratibha Patil. His vast and varied experience of over three and a half decades in the Pharmaceutical Industry, has been a revelation in entrepreneurship and a success story etched in gilt edged letters.

Dr. Wagh is an inspiration to several young entrepreneurs and motivates and shares his experience with young business school graduates as Guest Lecturer at several reputed academic institutions, including India’s finest – IIM, Ahmedabad; Symbiosis International University, Pune; IIFT, Delhi.
